Does the real estate agent charge a commission?

A real estate agent is a specialized advisor in the buying and selling of residential and commercial properties who, if desired, belongs to an organization that supports and promotes their profession.

The guidance of a real estate agent when selling or purchasing a property is essential because they are knowledgeable about the financial, tax, and legal aspects of the real estate market. An experienced agent will address their clients' concerns and have the necessary knowledge, contacts, and resources to ensure a successful sales transaction.

In a property transaction, there are generally two agents involved: one representing the seller and one representing the buyer.

In countries like the United States, the person selling the property is responsible for paying a commission, typically ranging from 3% to 6% of the sale price. This means that the buyer does NOT pay the commission and does not need to worry about it.

When you purchase a property, there is no cost to you for the services of a real estate agent. The commission is paid solely by the seller of the property.
